3.3 To Select the Drive Direction (Fig. 3) • For tightening bolts, install the drive shaft in the location shown in Figure 4. • For loosening bolts, install the drive shaft on the opposite side of the wrench. 3.4 Hex Sockets WARNING Use only hex sockets designed for use with impact wrenches.

4.3.3 Nut and Bolt Loosening Information • Be aware that more torque is usually required to loosen a fastener than to tighten it. • Rusted fasteners (humidity corrosion) may require up to twice the torque required for tightening. • Fasteners that are corroded due to contact with sea water or chemicals will require up to two and a half times the torque required for tightening.
