Additional menu items

The following menu items related to Dolby Atmos feature is newly added.
Page numbers in parentheses denote reference pages in Owner's Manual (the first
number for RX-A3040/RX-A2040 and the second for RX-V3077/RX-V2077).
• Dolby Surround decoder (bSurround) is added and selectable by pressing
SUR.DECODE on the remote control (p.74/74) or in "Decode Type" in the "Sound
Program" menu (p.117/113).
Select the Dolby Surround decoder when playing back Dolby Atmos contents or when
enjoying extended playback by Dolby Surround.
• When "Decoder Type" is set to "bSurround", you can configure the "Center Spread" setting. If you feel the
center sound is too strong when 2-channel source is played with the Dolby Surround decoder, set "Center
Spread" to "On" to spread the center channel signals to left and right.
• "Dolby Enabled SP" is added as a setting of "Layout (Front Presence/Rear Presence)"
in the "Setup" menu (p.126/122).
Select "Dolby Enabled SP" when using Dolby Enabled speakers as the presence
speakers.
Remarks
• When the Dolby Surround decoder is selected, virtual surround processing (such as
Virtual CINEMA FRONT) (p.73), YPAO Volume (p.108) or Compressed Music
Enhancer (p.75) does not work. Also, audio outputs from the HDMI OUT and ZONE
OUT jacks are disabled.
• Dolby Atmos contents will be reproduced in Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus or
multi-channel PCM format in the following situations.
– Any sound program or a surround decoder other than the Dolby Surround decoder
is selected.
– Neither surround back nor presence speakers are used.
– Headphones are used (2-channel playback).
• If the Dolby Surround decoder is selected when only one surround back speaker is
used, no sound is output from the surround back speaker (except when a Dolby
Atmos content is played).
Notes on installation of ceiling speakers
When installing presence speakers to a ceiling, use the following illustration as a
reference.
