· Then insert the diagonal belt into the belt guide on the headrest. The shoulder belt may only
lead backwards from the child's perspective! If necessary, only use the car seat on the vehicle's
back seat. (fig. 10).
· The optimal belt position is on the middle of the collarbone and not too close to your child's
neck. (fig. 11).
· The belt guide should be set to slightly above the shoulder. Your child will then be properly
secured by the seat belt. (fig. 12).
· Attention: Make sure that the child seat is always properly secured, even if it is not being
used. In the event of emergency braking, a loose seat can injure the other occupants in the car.
5. Removing the Seatfix
To release the Seatfix-connectors press the side slides forwards. By pressing the locking levers
at the side of the seat section, the Seatfix-connectors can then be pushed into it. (fig. 13).
6. Cleaning the seat cover
· The seat covers of RECARO Monza Nova 2 / Seatfix, Monza Nova Evo / Seatfix can be washed
according to the instructions on the care label sewn onto the cover. To remove the seat cover
initially release all the elastic and buttonhole connections. (fig. 14).
· Pull the lower plastic strip out of the relevant slit. Starting from the outside, pull the cover off
over the belt guides. (fig. 15).
· Pull the seat cushion off towards the front. Proceed in the same manner with the back rest and
head rest. To reattach the cover proceed in the reverse order. (fig. 16).
7. Child seat features / fundamentals (not included in all versions)
· The socket for the connection of a commercial music player is located here (fig. 17).
· Attention: To prevent hearing impairment ensure that your child does not listen to music or audio
media at a high level volume for extended periods. The European Toy Safety Directive and the
corresponding European Standard EN 71 / 1 stipulate the maximum volume for toys. Accordingly,
the maximum volume for "toys in close proximity to ears" must not exceed 80 decibels.
For your reference: this is the sound level of a busy street. This limit value applies to toys that
are mostly used close to the ear. The standard assumes a distance of 2.5 centimetres.
· The connection cable for the sound system is enclosed. The connection cable for the sound
system is enclosed. It can be laid underneath the upholstery before use. The pocket for the
music player is on the left hand side of the seat cushion. (fig. 18).
· Attention: Avoid the formation of cable loops in the head area and area between the seat
and backrest! To do this pull out the connecting cable slightly in the seat and stow the excess
length in the music player pocket.
· The head support is continuously variable in height providing the child with a safe sleeping
position; this means the child's head is prevented from falling forwards and therefore remains
within the protective headrest area. Adjust the inflatable air cushion to the normal state of
"full"for optimal safety (press the hand pump 15 to 20 times). (fig. 19).
· By pressing the air outlet valve, the resting position for the head can be easily adjusted. By
pressing the inflatable air cushion the air is released even more quickly. If a more upright positi-
on is required, pump up the inflatable air cushion again as shown above. (fig. 20).
· The reinforced ribs at the sides and the cover itself serve to improve your child's safety in the
event of a side impact and enable convenient ventilation behind the entire back rest. (fig. 21).
8. Notice
8.1 General information
· The instructions for use are in a compartment under the seat. Always return them there after use.
· The seat may be cleaned with lukewarm water and soap. The removed cover can be washed as
instructed on the care label.
· Fit in the direction of travel.

· Some vehicle headrests interfere with the fitting of your child seat. In this case, please
remove the vehicle headrest prior to fitting. Please ensure that the vehicle headrest does not
create an undesirable gap between the child seat backrest and the vehicle seat backrest. It
is also possible that the ability to adjust the child seat headrest height may be impaired by
the presence of a headrest on the vehicle seat.
8.2 Warranty
· There is a two year warranty from the date of purchase for manufacturing or material faults.
Claims may only be asserted upon proof of the date of purchase. The warranty is limited to
child seats which have been used correctly and which are returned in a clean and proper
condition.
· The warranty does not cover natural wear and damage resulting from excessive strain or
inappropriate or improper use.
· Material: All our fabrics meet high standards with regard to colorfastness. However, UV
radiation may cause colors to fade. This is not a material fault, but simply normal wear and
tear, for which no warranty can be given.
8.3 Protecting your vehicle
We would like to point out that the use of child car seats may cause damage to the vehicle
seats. Safety Directive ECE R44 requires secure installation of the seat. Please take appropria-
te measures to protect your vehicle seats (e.g. use a RECARO Car Seat Protector).
