Quick start

Recording and playback are the basic functions of your
DVD Recorder. In this chapter the elementary
operations for recording or playing a disc are presented
separately for quick reference purposes.
Detailed information on different modes, settings and
features can be found in the chapter 'Operation'.

Switching on

Switch on the TV and select the TV's Video In
channel (see operating manual for your TV).
Press B STANDBY/ON to turn on the Recorder.
The initial setup will appear the very first time you
turn on the Recorder. See initial setup.
Make sure the clock is set before you attempt
recording. See 'Installation - time/date adjustment.'

Checking input

Normally, the DVD Recorder displays the contents of
the current disc on the screen. However, if you want to
view TV channels, press the TUNER button so that TV
programming appears on the TV.
Make sure your TV is on the correct Video In channel.
Press TUNER again to return to disc viewing only at
the Recorder.

Recording

Press / OPEN/CLOSE to open the disc tray.

Insert a recordable DVD+RW disc. Press /
OPEN/CLOSE to close the disc tray.

Press TUNER to see TV channels through the
DVD Recorder.

Press CHANNEL 3 or CHANNEL 4 (on the
Recorder) or CH+, CH- or the digit buttons 0-9
(on the remote control) to select the channel you
wish to record.

Press RECORD (on Recorder) or REC/OTR
(on remote control).

Press RECORD (on Recorder) or REC/OTR
(on remote control) twice to start a 30 minute
recording.
The end time of the recording shows in the timer
box on the TV screen. The remaining recording time
shows in the status box on the TV screen and on
the display.

Press RECORD or REC/OTR repeatedly to set up
long recordings in 30 minute increments, up to four
hours.
