Troubleshooting

Scenario
An error message appears
when exiting the
Programming menu
"DFT DIP2 is on"
An "Open Tamper" message
appears on the Keypad while
exiting the Programming
menu
"Please Wait..." message is
displayed on the LCD keypad
and commands are not
executed
Keypad beeps while exiting
the Programming menu
Cannot enter the
Programming menu
The Red LED on the Keypad
flashes rapidly
Cannot arm the System
Keypad Low Battery
notification
The Detector is not testing or
activating

Possible Cause
DIP Switch -2 is in ON
position
One of the Tampers in the
System is Open
This message is displayed on
the keypad when there is no
communication with the panel
No Siren installed in the Main
Panel
System is Armed
Failed to send event report
to MS
The Main Board is updating
Keypad Software version
One of the Zones is still open
The Panel is not receiving
power from the battery
The Detector is not
installed in the System
The Detector is not
assigned to a Zone
The Detector is wired

Solution
Set the DIP Switch -2 to OFF
position
Check all Tampers in the
System
Close the Open Tamper
Verify correct connection
(power and bus) between
the keypad and the control
panel
To operate the keypad,
after control panel power
up, wait until the green
"Status" LED on the
control panel lights
steadily
Connect Siren to the Main
Panel
If no Siren is installed in
the System, connect a
resistor parallel to BELL
terminals
Disarm the System
Go to User Menu ->
Activities-> Advanced->
Cancels Rprt Prog
Wait several minutes until the
Keypad software version
successfully updates
Verify all Zones are closed by
using the "Up"
"Down"
keypad keys
Reconnect Battery
Check battery Voltage
Enroll the Detector to the
System
Assign the detector to a
Zone
Conduct a Bus Test
and
