USING THE SLEEP TIMER
This timer automatically switches off the power after a
preset time has elapsed. There are 7 time periods avail-
able 90,60,50,40,30,20
and 10 minutes.
1. Pressthe SLEEP switch.

The "SLEEP" and previous sleep time setting blink.
2. Pressthe SLEEP switch within
5
seconds to select the
desired sleep time.

- If the CLEAR switch is pressed, the original display
returns and the SLEEP timer setting mode is re-
leased.
3. Pressthe SET switch or allow 5 seconds to elapse.
The originaldisplay returnsand the SLEEP timer starts,
"SLEEP" remains lit.
When using the SLEEP timer with a CD, the volume will
gradually be reduced (fade-out) during the 30-second
period before the unit turns off.
To check the remaining sleep time
Pressthe SLEEP switch.The remainingtime is displayed.
After several seconds, the original display returns.
To release the SLEEP timer whiie in operation
Pressthe SLEEP switch,then press SET. The timer isalso
released if the power is switched off.
Timer priorities
The-ON/OFF timer settings are released ifthe actual
time reaches the ON time setting during WAKEUP
timer operation.
During ON/OFF timer operation, the WAKE UP timer
will not operate, but the WAKE UP timer setting is
retained.
The SLEEP timer has priorityover the ON/OFF and
WAKE UP timers. The power is switched off by the
SLEEP timer. The ON/OFF timer setting is released,
but the WAKE UP timer setting is retained.
MAINTENANCE
Cieaning the decks 1 and 2 heads
To ensure
playback
and recordiig withgoodqualii sound,
use cotton swab to clean the heads, pinch rollers and
capstans of the
decks
after about every 10 hours of use.
Ifthe dirtpersists,soak the swab ina littlemethylated spirit
or head cleaning fluid and then clean.
Main unit
Use a soft cloth
to remove dirt on the main unit.
Ifthe dirt persists,dip a soft cloth into a diluted solutionof
neutraldetergent, wring itout,wipe away the dirt,and then
take up any moisturewith a dry cloth.
Do not use benzine, thinners or alcohol since they willmar
the finish of the surfaces.
