- Page 3 Warning before using When you travel a long distance, the satellite system will need more time to find and memorize the location of the satellites which will then give you access to the chosen channels. Example: You are in Sydney and you have used the satellite system. The next day, you drive to Canberra. You are still in the same geographical area, so your satellite system will need 40 to 70 seconds to find the satellite you have chosen.
