  • Page 10 1 Safety precautions Caution: Burns hazard! • Textiles that have been cleaned, treated or soaked with flammable chemi- cals, detergents or solvents such as benzene, alcohol, stain remover, oil, paint, wax, etc. are not to be washed in the appliance. Fire or explosion hazard! Wash materials containing such substances first by hand with water or allow the solvent to evaporate completely.

    5 Programme overview Skin protection The «Skin protection» function can be activated together with to the required programme. With this function, two extra rinse cycles are performed and the water level is increased significantly. The «Skin protection» function is particu- larly suitable for people with sensitive skin or with a suspected allergy to washing detergent.

    5 Programme overview • normally soiled The washing time of the programme selected is significantly extended. • Anti-mite Anti-mite can be selected with the programmes. The main wash - at the set temperature - is extended and the rinsing is intensified. This func- tion is particularly suitable for individuals with an allergy to mites.

    5 Programme overview Additional functions Delayed start The programme start can be delayed from one hour to a maximum of 24 hours. During shut-off periods, which are determined by the local electricity supplier, the delayed start time is extended by the length of time the electricity was shut off.

    User settings Language selection The language in the plain text display can be changed at any time, even if a programme is running. Text in English Press the button repeatedly to change the language to German, French, Italian, Rhaeto-Romanic, English and so on. Childproof lock The childproof lock is to prevent children accidentally starting or stopping a programme.

Automatic door opener If the automatic door opener is switched on, the lid opens automatically at the end of the programme.     7 Washing Loading the appliance Load dry washing (max. 7 kg). • If washing normally soiled whites and coloureds, fill the washing drum. • If washing heavily soiled whites and coloureds, fill the washing drum max. ¾ full. • If washing easy care cotton fabrics, white and coloured synthetic fabrics as well as mixed fabrics, fill the washing drum max.

    7 Washing Adding washing detergent Detergent dosage Adding too much washing detergent can cause excess foaming, giving a poor wash result and, in the worst case, causing damage to the appliance. The amount of detergent required depends on the degree of soiling as well as the wash load, the hardness of the water and the product being used.

If no programme selection is made within 20 seconds, the displays go out. However, it is still possible to make a programme selection.

    7 Washing Programme selection «Press and go» The main wash programmes can be started at the press of a single button. The control unit gives the relevant programme information for the different programmes. Select any additional programmes or functions by pressing the relevant buttons.

First the alkaline detergent is added to the wash and the suds are heated up 40 °C. Then after around 5 minutes the bleach is added. Bio wash is particularly suitable for removing stubborn protein-based soiling.

    Care and maintenance Using the correct dosage of detergent will automatically clean the inside of the appliance. Immediately wipe away all traces of detergent with a soft cloth to avoid staining. Cleaning the detergent compartments If the correct dosage of detergent is used, the detergent compartments are cleaned by the water flowing in.

    8 Care and maintenance Checking the overflow tank The overflow tank 1 is located at the back of the appliance. If there is an excessive build-up of foam, the foam is diverted to the overflow tank. The tank must be checked periodically and emptied when necessary.

    9 Trouble-shooting Opening the lid in the event of a power failure The lid can always be opened by pressing the button, provided there is no power failure. In the event of a power failure (wall switch is «off», coin meter, etc.) the lid can only be opened using the emergency door release.
