    BEFORE YOU BEGIN Thank you for purchasing the PROFORM 485 E manual. To help us assist you, note the product model ® elliptical. The 485 E elliptical provides an array of fea- number and serial number before contacting us.     ASSEMBLY • Assembly requires two persons. • In addition to the included tool(s), assembly requires the following tool(s): • Place all parts in a cleared area and remove the one Phillips screwdriver packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until you finish all assembly steps.
  • Page 8 3. If there is a shipping tube (not shown) attached to the Frame (1), remove the screws (not shown) and then remove the shipping tube. Discard the screws and the shipping tube. Orient the Front Stabilizer (3) so that the sticker is facing away from the front of the Frame (1).
  • Page 9 5. Slide the Rear and Front Shield Covers (27, 28) downward and press them onto the Left and Right Shields (30, 31). 6. Attach the Rear Upright Cover (25) to the Upright (2) with three M4 x 16mm Screws (78); start all the Screws, and then tighten them.
  • Page 10 8. Using a plastic bag to keep your fingers clean, apply a generous amount of the included grease to the axles on the Upright (2). Next, slide a Pivot Spacer (55) onto the right axle on the Upright (2). Then, identify the Right Upper Body Arm (10), orient it as shown, and slide it onto the right axle on the Upright (2).
