General problems

Problem
Auto-dial numbers cannot
be stored in the machine.
Nothing appears in the
display.
The machine does not
operate correctly.
Automatic document
feeding does not work for
transmission or copying.
VOICE MAIL continues to
appear in the display after
you have listened to or
erased messages
received in your voice mail
service.
• Try changing the print contrast setting to LIGHT
(see page 29).
• Make sure the machine is plugged in and the
imaging film has been loaded. (Auto-dial numbers
cannot be stored if the imaging film has not been
loaded.) See Loading the Imaging Film in Chapter
1.
• Make sure the power cord is properly plugged into
a power outlet.
• Connect another electrical appliance to the outlet to
see if it has power.
• Unplug the power cord and then plug it in again
several seconds later.
• Check the size and weight of the document (see
Transmittable Documents on page 82).
• Follow the procedure on page 38 to disable the
voice mail message indicator (select NO in Step 5).
STOP
After pressing
and time display, make sure that VOICE MAIL no
longer appears, and then repeat the procedure to
enable the voice mail message indicator (select
YES) in step 5.
