Slide the phone open, type the

1. At main screen, type the number.
2. Select Save.
3. Type contact's name.
4. Scroll to and select Save.

Picture Messaging

Your phone comes with an integrated camera and video recorder that allow
you to capture and share moments of your life with family and friends.
Note: Separate charges apply to send/receive domestic/international picture messages.
Take and Send Pictures
1. Quickly press the Camera key on the right side of
the phone.
2. Frame your subject and select Capture.
3. Select Options > Send > Picture message.
4. Scroll to the abc field and type your message.
5. Scroll down to the Send button and select it.
6. At To, type the destination phone number or select
Add to choose from:
Recently used
to select a contact.
Open Log
to select a contact in your call log.
Contact
to select a contact in your phone book.
Contact group
to select the group.
My Album
to send to My Album.
My Journal
to send to My Journal.
7. Select Options > Send.
Take and Send Videos
1. Press and hold the Camera key on the right side of the phone.
2. Frame your subject and select Record. Select Stop when done.
3. Select Options > Send > Picture message.
4. Scroll to the abc field and type your message.
5. Scroll to the Send button and select it.
6. At To, type the destination phone number or select Add to choose
from Recently used, Open Log, Contact, Contact group, My
Album, My Journal. Select Options > Send when done.
Set Up Voicemail
To access / set up voicemail,
press and hold the 1 key and
follow the tutorial.
Music Player Key
To reset password to last
4-digits of your phone number,
type #PWD# or #793# and press
the green Send key.

Memory Card

Your phone comes with a removable 1 GB microSD memory card (pre-installed) where
you can store multimedia files, such as video clips, music tracks, and sound files, images,
and messaging data, and to back up information from phone memory.
Default Storage Location
Photos, videos, and music are stored to
the memory card by default if you have
the card in the phone. To locate files on

Nokia 5300 XpressMusic
The memory card is located on the side of the phone
by the Music Player keys. To remove the card,
make sure that no application is accessing the card.
Remove the battery cover and locate the card slot.
Press to release the lock and remove the card.
Downloaded ringtones, wallpapers, icons,
and games are stored to the phone memory
by default. To locate downloadable content
on the phone memory:
1. At main screen, select Menu > Fun
& Apps > Gallery.
2. Select Images, Tones, Music files,
or MyFaves icons to locate the
desired file.
Check Memory Status
To check available memory on the memory
card:
1. At main screen, select Menu > Fun &
Apps > Gallery.
2. Make sure Memory card is highlighted
and select Options > Details.

Text Messaging

Your phone supports four text modes:
T9
®
mode
allows you to type words with
only one keystroke per letter. The phone
interprets what word you want. For example,
to type Hey, you press 4, 3, and 9.
Traditional mode
allows you to type letters
by pressing the key until the correct letter
displays. For example, to type Hey, you
press 4 twice, then 3 twice, then 9 three
times.
Number mode
allows you to type numbers.
Symbol mode
allows you to type symbols.

Your phone notifies you and displays an
alert when you have a new text message.
To read, select Show.
Note: Separate charges apply to send/receive
domestic/international text messages.
Delete Message
1. At main screen, select
Menu > Messaging.
2. Scroll to and select Inbox.
3. Scroll to the message.
4. Select Options > Delete.
5. Select Yes to confirm.
FM Radio
You can listen to the FM radio using your phone.
Access FM Radio
1. Connect the headset to your phone.
2. At main screen, select Menu > Fun & Apps.
3. Scroll to and select Media.
4. Scroll to and select Radio.
To turn off the radio, select Options > Turn off.
Use the Radio

To scroll to the desired frequency, press the Up
or Down Navigation key.

To set the radio frequency, select Options > set
frequency. Type the frequency and select OK.

To search all radio stations, select Options >
Search all stations.

To select a radio station, press the Up or Down
Navigation key.

To save a radio station, select Options > Save
station. Type the station's name and select OK.

To adjust the volume, press the Volume keys on
the right side of the phone.
