5. Secure fuel tank cap (9) finger tight, and then using the oil tank cap (7),
secure the fuel tank cap (9). ENSURE you wipe any residue from around the
fuel tank cap (9).
6. It is important to now fill the combination oil tank (6) with 4 stroke engine
oil per following instructions.
NOTE: Should you lose the oil tank cap (7), an additional oil tank cap (7) has
been supplied with this chainsaw

Adding 4 Stroke Oil to the Chainsaw

WARNING: Always ensure the engine is turned off before
undertaking this task.
WARNING: Never start work unless the chain (20) and guide bar (19)
are lubricated.
NOTE TO CHECK: Always ensure the combination oil tank (6) is full of 4 stroke
engine oil each time the chainsaw is being used.
1. Using a funnel, fill the oil tank (6) with 260ml of quality 4 stroke oil, or to just
under the lip of the oil tank opening. (Fig S).
2. Fasten the combination oil tank cap (7), and if there is any spillages, ensure
you clean with a clean rag.

Operation

WARNING: Do not start the engine whilst the chainsaw hangs from one
hand. This is very dangerous as the chain (20) may come in contact with your
body and the starting action is not controlled .
NOTE: This chainsaw is fitted with an easy start recoil starter (11).
This means the recoil starter only needs to be pulled at a steady medium rate
and not hard vigorous pulling.
1. Fill the fuel and oil tanks respectively per
previous instructions and ensure both caps are
secure. Remove the bar cover (31).
2. Press in the priming bulb (5) up to 10 times, or
until the priming bulb (5) is firm and full of fuel,
when the chainsaw is cold or being used for the
first time, or after the chainsaw has previously
run out of fuel (Fig T).

4. Press the on/off switch (4) to the "On" position, as marked with an "I" (Fig
U). For safety when starting, make sure the front guard / chain brake (13) is
on by pushing it firmly towards the nose of the chainsaw bar until a click is
heard (Fig V).
5. When the machine is cold, or the chainsaw has previously run out of fuel,
pull out the choke control (10) to the fully extended position (Fig W).

6. Hold the chainsaw securely on the ground by
placing one foot on the rear handle, one hand
securing the front handle. Using your other
hand, pull at a steady and medium rate on the
recoil starter (11) (Fig X).
7. Repeat until the engine fires, and then STOP as
soon as the engine kicks (attempts to start) or
runs in any way.
8. Push the choke control (10) back in (Fig Y).
9. Pull the recoil starter (11) again and restart the
engine. Allow the engine to warm up.
10. When ready to start cutting, release the front
guard / chain brake (13), by pulling it firmly
towards the back of the chainsaw until a click is
heard (Fig A).
