Shutting Down the Instrument
Turn off the instrument only if it will not be used for more than ten days. If the
instrument will be used within the next ten days, leave the instrument on.
NOTE
Any time that you turn off the instrument, wait a minimum of 60 seconds before
turning the power switch back to the ON position.
Use the following procedure to safely prepare fluidics before shutting down the system.
1
Perform a complete maintenance wash to thoroughly wash the system. For more
information, see
2
Leave the used wash cartridge in the reagent chiller to collect any fluid that may
fall back through the lines.
3
Empty the waste bottle and return it to the reagent compartment.
4
Place an empty 250 ml bottle in the reagent compartment, lower the sipper handle,
and close the reagent compartment door.
5
Remove the flow cell from the flow cell stage.
6
Using an alcohol wipe or a lint-free tissue moistened with ethanol or isopropanol,
carefully wipe the surface of the flow cell holder until it is completely clean and dry.
7
Press down on the flow cell clamp until it locks into place.
8
Close the flow cell compartment door.
9
Toggle the power switch to turn off the instrument.
10
When you are ready to restart the instrument, perform an instrument wash prior to
your next sequencing run.
