To access the canopy locking system on a Diamond DA 42 NG:

1. Open the inside door handle to access the spring pin.
2. Push the spring pin through the inside door handle using a 4 mm (0.16 in) punch.
3. Pull the outside door handle out.
4. Remove the 4 screws from the inside door handle.
5. Pull out the handle and disconnect the front fork head from the slide axle.
6. Remove the circlip and move the axle out.
7. Disconnect the rear fork head from the inside lever.
8. Remove the inside door handle from the canopy shell.
9. Remove the spring pin from the canopy door handle.

This process allows access to the canopy locking system components.
