Replacing a controller module
Prerequisites
•
Verify the status of the controller module.
IMPORTANT:
As soon as you have verified that you must replace the controller, contact Hewlett Packard
Enterprise support. You cannot replace both controllers at the same time. One controller must be
functioning for failover.
•
Verify that the volumes and snapshots are not restriping.
•
Back up your data.
•
Fail over the storage controller from the Storage Systems pane in the StoreVirtual Management
Console. Ensure that the controller taking over all activities is fully functional. A controller replacement
can be done online, but there is reduced system performance. If performing the replacement online,
Hewlett Packard Enterprise strongly recommends doing so during a time of low activity. See the HPE
StoreVirtual 3200 Online Help for more information.
WARNING:
The storage controller must be failed over. Hot-removal of a storage controller is not supported.

Storage Controllers section. The controller status is listed next to the controller name in the left list
