Problems
The thickness and width of the line
printed for the first layer varies
along the length of the line.
The filament is not fed by the
feeder
unit.
From
inspection of the filament it seems
to be intact without any "notches"
from engagement with the gears.
The filament is fed by the feeder
unit, but occasionally unexpected
"slipping" occurs and the material is
not extruded. From a visual
inspection it can be seen that the
filament is very "marked" or "eaten"
by the gear.
Filament extrusion is irregular or
blocked altogether
Extrusion of the filament is hard

too thin indicates that there is
too much space.

Due to insufficient tension the
filament is not pressed against
the gear correctly.
The tension is too high resulting
in the filament being squeezed
against the gear.
The

feeder unit and the entrance to
the bowden).
The filament is jammed in the
hot-end group.
The extrusion temperature is
set too low.

Solution
Check the distance between the
nozzle
and
the
printing
(working on the printing plate).
Increase the tension of the feeder
unit using the related adjustment
wheel.
Reduce the tension of the feeder
unit using the related adjustment
wheel.
Loosen the pressure adjustment
screw of the filament, remove the
wire manually and load it again
raising the temperature of the hot-
end block by 10°C.
Cut the filament above the feeder
unit. Unmount and clean the hot-
end group.
Using the appropriate menu raise
the
temperature;
increasing by about 5 – 10 °C at a
time until you reach the correct
temperature.
