Amazon Fire TV Device Software Updates

Software updates automatically download and install to your Amazon Fire TV device when it's connected
to the Internet. You can also manually check for software updates from Settings.

To view your currently installed software version and check for an update:
Select Settings > Device > About from the Fire TV menu.
If you don't see a "Device" option, look for System and select that instead.
Look for the Software Version section to view your currently installed software version. Select Check for
System Update to see if a software update is available for your device.
If an update is available, it will start downloading automatically. After the download is complete, select Install
System Update to install the update immediately. Otherwise, the update automatically installs the next time you
restart your device or after your device has been idle for more than 30 minutes.

The Fire TV on-screen experience has been completely redesigned for easier access to content
and personalised recommendations. We've added a new streamlined top menu and a featured

apps in your collection and use your remote to rearrange the way your apps display. You can also open a

Amazon Music and Prime Photos are now pre-installed apps you can access from Your Apps & Games. You can
turn on the PIN Protect App Launches option in parental controls to block access to these apps. For more

We've added new features and functionality for the VoiceView screen reader for Fire TV. In addition to
automatically speaking selectable navigation options and controls, VoiceView now features an enhanced
"Review Mode" that provides descriptions of on-screen text--including video details like plot or cast information,
