protect lives, protect property, and then to control the spread of

Identifying a Major Injury
Consider the following points in determining if the injury should
be handled as a major injury.
Any head injury (from base of neck to top of head)
Any loss of consciousness
Any disorientation
Any convulsion
Any loss of sensation
Any loss of motor function
Limbs at abnormal angles
Amputations
Any burn of the face, hands, feet, or genitals
(chemical, thermal, or radiation)
Any burn larger than the palm of your hand
Any inhalation of any abnormal substance
Profuse bleeding
Abnormal breathing patterns
