Routine & Regular Inspection Request
This unit is designed to withstand many hours of operation. Nevertheless, it is recommended that routine inspections
be conducted to help ensure trouble-free operation.
CAUTION
Do not forget to conduct the routine inspection with auto repeat recording.
Routine inspection procedure

Set the power switches on the unit, video cameras,
TV monitor and other equipment connected in the
monitoring system to the ON position.

Is the picture on the TV monitor OK?

Are the date and time displayed on the TV monitor
correct?

Press the REC REVIEW button during the record-
ing and check that the image are being recorded
correctly.
Action taken after routine inspections
In the unlikely event of a problem with the unit, turn the unit to STANDBY mode, take hold of the power plug and
disconnect it from the power outlet, and consult with the dealer from whom the unit was purchased.
Regular inspections recommended
This unit has an hour metre which shows for how many hours the VTR has been used. When the MENU/REC
LOCK switch is set to MENU, Menu Screen 1 appears on the TV monitor, and the hour metre can be checked.
Use the hour metre as a rough guideline to cleaning or replacing the parts inside the unit. The regular screen is
restored when the MENU/REC LOCK switch is set to OFF. For further details, consult with your dealer.
Playback picture quality selection function
The playback picture quality selection mode is established when the REC REVIEW button is pressed while the
power is ON and a mode other than REC or REC/PAUSE has been established for the unit.
•
Each time the REC REVIEW button is pressed, one of the following items is selected in sequence.
: NORMAL (factory setting)
: SOFT
: DETAIL

If the REC REVIEW button has not been pressed for 5 or more seconds, the playback picture quality selection
mode is automatically released.

The selected item is reflected in the PICTURE item on menu screen 4.
