3.SPARK PLUG SERVICE 4. 5.STARTING THE ENGINE 8.MAINTENANCE Before starting the engine, disconnect the load from the DC terminals. The purpose of the maintenance and adjustment schedule is to keep the generator in the best operating condition. 1.Turn the fuel cap lever fully clockwise to the ON position. W A R N I N G Shut off the engine before performing any maintenance. - Page 17 3.Turn the cap lever fully counterclockwise to the "OFF" position NOTE Do not use the choke when the engine is warm or the air temperature is high. 4.Pull the starter grip until resistance is felt, then pull the starter grip briskly toward the arrow as shown below.

High altitude operation 7.STOPPING THE ENGINE At high altitude, the standard carburetor air-fuel mixture will be excessively rich. Performance will decrease, and fuel consumption will increase. To stop the engine in an emergency, turn the engine switch to the OFF position. High altitude performance can be improved by installing a smaller diameter main IN NORMAL USE: fuel jet in the carburetor and readjusting the pilot screws. -

Low oil alarm system 6.GENERATOR USE The Low Oil alarm system is designed to prevent engine damage caused by an insufficient amount of oil in the crankcase.
