Note:
The supplied headphones with a 4-pole plug are
exclusively for the 1-bit portable MD player.
If used for other equipment, you may not hear
sounds from both channels.
CHARGING THE RECHARGEABLE
BATTERY (pages 12-13)
Charge the rechargeable battery according to the
following procedure.
1. Insert the rechargeable battery.
(1) Open the battery compartment cover.
(2) Insert the – mark of the battery first.
(3) Close the battery compartment cover.
2. Plug the AC adaptor into an AC outlet (AC 100V)
and plug the other end into the DC IN 5V jack on
the battery charger.
3. Place the main unit on the battery charger with
∆Σ facing toward you.
G The operation indicator flashes once and stays
lit. Charging will be started.
G Battery charging will be completed in 3.5 hours.
When battery charging is completed, the opera-
tion indicator will go out.
G Do not use rechargeable batteries other than the AD-
N55BT (supplied).
MINIDISC PLAYBACK (pages 16-22)
1. Plug in the remote control and headphones.
G Insert the plug fully.
G The commercially available headphones with a 3-
pole plug do not ensure high sound quality.

(1) Move the OPEN knob in the direction shown
by the arrow to open the disc holder.
(2) Insert the arrow end of the MiniDisc first,
while pushing the center of the MiniDisc.
(3) Close the disc holder.
G When the disc holder is closed, the power is turned
on and playback is started automatically (Auto play).
If the unit will not be used right after loading the
MiniDisc, turn off the power.
4. Adjust the volume by pressing the
button on the unit.

(1) Enter the sound quality setting mode.
Press the SOUND button. "DOLBYnor" appears.
"DOLBYnor" is set by default, and the last selected
mode appears once you set the bass.
