To fit the blade guard to the underneath of the Titan TTB579PLN:
1. Locate the blade guard limiting knob pole (c) on the side of the planer out-feed table (13). 2. Slide the guard arm and cutter guard assembly (27) over the locating pivot pin. 3. Tighten the locking knob (28) by turning it clockwise. 4. Align the opening of the retaining collar (29) with the groove (b) on the blade guard locating pivot pin (a). 5. Use sharp-nose pliers (not supplied) to push down the retaining collar (29) and secure it to the groove (b).

When being thickened, the contact surface of the work piece must be flat. If working with bigger or heavier work-pieces it is necessary to clamp the machine firmly to its supporting bench or table.
