key
To'store a user's program in memory,
press this key,then one of the keys 1
thru 4 in the row below.
USER'S PROG. (PROGRAM) key
User's program call key. After first
press this key, press one of the keys 1
thru 4 to call a program.
DSP ON/OFF key
Functions the same way as key @ on
the front panel.
DSP CONTROL keys
These keys are used to change
parameters in each mode when using
the digital sound processor. And by
storing changed parameters in memory,
the user's own unique sound field can
be created. See the next page for
details.
TRANSMIT
mode switch
Part of PROGRAMMABLE
keys
Each time this switch is switched among
AUDIO,
AUX,
and VIDEO
modes,
the
PROGRAMMABLE
keys
can
learn
or
transmit signals in the selected mode.
TRANSMIT indicator
Lights when transmitting remote
control signals.

PROGRAMMABLE PRESET keys
¢ These 13 keys (under the names
of PHONO, TUNER, TAPE A, and
TAPE B) are available for learning;
however, they are preset with the
following functions at the factory.
¢ When
TOSHIBA's optional com-
ponents,
such
as_
turntable
(SR-5638),
tuner
(ST-5528/
5538), and tape deck (PC-5858),
are
connected
to
this
unit at
<SYSTEM
CONTROL>,
these
components
can be operated in
any
position
of the TRANSMIT
mode switch.
e The learning method is the same
as for PROGRAMMABLE
keys.
* To
initialize
keys
which
have
learned signals, press the Reset
button
in the battery
compart-
ment. Note that in this case all
the memory except that of the
preset keys is erased.
e After
initialization,
these
keys
operate
for the above
compo-
nents. For the tuner TUNING key,
it selects
preset
bands
in se-
quence. For details, refer to each
component's owner's manual.
Note:
Since some optional components to
be connected for system control are
not available in some areas, check
their availability at the authorized
TOSHIBA
service
station
in your
area.
MASTER VOLUME keys
These keys operate the MASTER
VOLUME control on the front panel
Press [Al to increase volume and [V] to
decrease it.
