it is practical to use projection lenses that optically zoom
to properly size the image to the auditorium screen. The
lens Zoom setting is associated with the Current Function
and recalled when that FUNCTION is selected on the
PROJECTOR CONTROL screen or associated with a
CPL. This is a mechanical adjustment of the projector lens
and should not be confused with any kind of image
manipulation creating a zoom effect.
To adjust Zoom (the image size), tap Menu, tap Function
Setup, and then either tap, or press and hold, the
(minus) or
(plus) button associated with Zoom while
observing the projected image on the screen. It may be
necessary to observe the actual content (CPL) while setting
Zoom to insure that the screen is properly filled will still
not spilling the image onto the screen mask or surround.
Focus Adjust (Image Sharpness)
The Focus setting is associated with the Current Function
and recalled when that FUNCTION key is selected on the
PROJECTOR CONTROL screen or associated with the
CPL. This is a mechanical adjustment of the projector lens
and should not be confused with any kind of electrical
focus adjustments.
To adjust Focus (image sharpness), tap Menu, tap
Function Setup, and then either tap, or press and hold, the
(minus) or
(plus) button associated with Focus
while observing the projected image on the screen.
Adjusting Focus is normally realized using a DCP
containing a suitable test image. Observing actual Show
content while adjusting Focus is not recommended.
Shift Adjust (Vertical Image Position)
Allows you to make an adjustment to the vertical position
of the on-screen image to compensate for vertical
displacement of the projector.
ADJUST PROJECTOR
To adjust Shift, tap Menu, tap Function Setup, and then
either tap, or press and hold, the
button associated with Shift while observing the projected
image on the screen. It may be necessary to view actual
content (CPL) while setting Zoom to insure that the screen
is properly filled will still not spilling the image onto the
screen mask while leaving an opposite area dark.
Electric V shift Adjust (Image V Centering)
Allows you to electrically compensation for vertical image
displacement when the aspect ratio of the image is changed
from 2.39:1 to 1.86:1. Refer to the Projector
documentation for additional details.
The Electric V shift control shows the relative vertical
"position" of the image on the auditorium screen and is
associated with the Current Function. In addition, this
control has a numeric display which allows you to
reposition the image to a known location.
To adjust the Electric V shift (image V Centering), tap
Menu, tap Function Setup, and then touch & drag the
Control Bar/Indicator to a new setting and release. To
make incremental adjustments to the Electric V shift,
either tap, or press and hold, the
button associated with Electric V shift while observing
the projected image on the screen. A numerical value is
shown to allow for easy resetting of Electric V shift to a
Shift
previous value.
Note: Response to setting the Electric V shift will
experience some delay. You should use the Control
Bar/Indicator to place the image in the approximate
position desired.
