Battery Replacement
A Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery in your computer maintains system con-
figuration information. In the event that the battery fails to maintain system con-
figuration information, NEC recommends that you see your authorized NEC
dealer and have the battery replaced.
WARNING: There is a danger of explosion if the battery is incorrectly replaced.
Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer.
Discard used batteries according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Battery Disposal
Your main battery is also made of Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH). The main
battery and the CMOS battery must be collected, recycled, or disposed of in an
environmentally-approved manner.
Your main battery and your CMOS battery are not recyclable.
The incineration, landfilling, or mixing of NiMH batteries with the municipal
solid wasted stream is prohibited by law in most areas.
Contact your local waste management officials for other information regarding
the environmentally sound collection, recycling, and disposal of the batteries.
