Dry compartment
The dry compartment is ideal for stor‐
ing foods which perish easily, such as
– fish and seafood;
– meat, poultry and sausages;
– salads and lettuce;
– dairy products, e.g. yogurt, cheese,
cream, quark etc;
– you can also use the dry compart‐
ment to store all kinds of food, pro‐
viding it is wrapped.
The main advantage of the dry com‐
partment is the low temperature (rather
than the humidity). The humidity in the
dry compartment is approximately the
same as in a standard refrigerator.
Please note that food rich in protein de‐
teriorates faster than other types of
food.
Shellfish, for example, deteriorates fast‐
er than fish, and fish deteriorates faster
than meat.
Always keep these foods covered or
wrapped.
Storing food in the PerfectFresh zone
Humidity controlled compart‐
ment ,
The humidity controlled compartment
has a regulator which is used to adjust
the relative humidity.
Slide the regulator to the or relative
humidity setting.
Humidity level not increased
At the setting the humidity controlled
compartment becomes a dry compart‐
ment - the regulator opens the vents in
the compartment allowing moisture to
escape (see "Dry compartment ").
Increased humidity
With the regulator at the setting the
humidity controlled compartment is
suitable for storing fruit and vegetables.
The regulator closes the vents in the
compartment so that moisture is re‐
tained.
The humidity greatly depends on the
type and quantity of food being stored,
if stored unwrapped.
The humidity can be too low if there is
only a small amount stored in the com‐
partment.
Tip: If you are only storing a small
amount of food, wrap it in airtight pack‐
aging.
In some circumstances, condensate
can occur in the humidity controlled
compartment at the increased hu‐
midity setting.
Use a cloth to remove the conden‐
sate.
