INTERFACE CABLES

This section describes the connections of the interface cables.

Addition of Hard Disk Drive

The connection required when a hard disk drive is added is described below.
Installation of SATA Disks
If the serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drives are added, connect the cables as shown in the figure below. Fill the drive bay
with the hard disk drives from the bottom to top bay.
If two SATA hard disk drives are installed in the server, you can configure a disk array by using on-board controller
(HostRAID). See Chapter 4 for details.
Installation of SCSI Disks
If SCSI hard disk drives are added, connect the cables as shown in the figure below (the number of connectors varies
depending on the type of the SCSI cable). Install the hard disk drives in the order of SCSI ID0, ID1, ID2 and ID3 from
bottom to top. Connect the connector nearest to the last interface cable to the hard disk drive of SCSI ID0, the next
connector to the hard disk drive of SCSI ID1, the third connector to the hard disk drive of SCSI ID2, and the last
connector to the on-board SCSI card.
