Pointer Calibration

Your new bandsaw is equipped with a fence mea-
surement system that includes a fence pointer,
which must be calibrated when the bandsaw is
first set up.
To calibrate the pointer:
1.
If the fence is mounted on the right-hand side
of the blade, remove it and re-install it on the
left-hand side of the blade.
2.
Place the fence flush against the bandsaw
blade (Figure 35).

3.
Loosen the pointer adjustment screw (Figure
36) and set the pointer in line with "0" and the
measurement scale on the table.

4.
Tighten the pointer adjustment screw.

Miter Gauge

The miter gauge needs to be calibrated to the
blade when it is first mounted in the miter slot.
To calibrate the miter gauge:
1.
Place one edge of a machinist's square
against the face of the miter gauge and the
other against the blade face, as shown in
Figure 37.

2.
Loosen the lock knob on the miter gauge and
adjust the gauge flush with the edge of the
square.
3.
Tighten the lock knob, and verify the setting.
Note: Sometimes the tightening procedure
can affect the adjustment.
4.
Loosen the screw that secures the angle
pointer and adjust the pointer to the 0˚ mark
on the scale.
5.
Retighten the screw that secures the angle
pointer.
