Redistribute routes
In addition to filtering routes, you can add routes from other routing instances or protocols to the IS-IS
process. With the
connected routes in the IS-IS process.
Note: Do not route iBGP routes to IS-IS unless there are route-maps associated with the IS-IS
redistribution.
IPv4 routes
Use any of the following commands in ROUTER ISIS mode to add routes from other routing instances or
protocols.
Note: These commands apply to IPv4 IS-IS only. Use the ADDRESS-FAMILY IPV6 mode shown later to
apply prefix lists to IPv6 routes.

Command Mode Purpose
ROUTER ISIS-AF Apply a configured prefix list to all outgoing

Purpose
Include BGP, directly connected, RIP, or
user-configured (static) routes in IS-IS.
Configure the following parameters:
level-1 , l evel-1-2 , or level-2 : Assign

all redistributed routes to a level.
Default is level-2 .
• range: 0 to 16777215. Default is
metric
0.
metric-type: choose either external

or internal . Default is internal.
• map-name : name of a configured route
map.
