CHUCK REMOVAL
See Figures 16 ° 18.
The chuck may be removed in order to use some acces-
sories,
To remove:
[] Lock the switch trigger by placing the direction of rota-
tion selector in center position.
[] hsert a 5/16 in. or larger hex key into the chuck of your
ddll and tighten the chuck jaws securely.
[] Tap the hex key sharply with a mallet in a clockwise di-
rection. This wil! loosen the screw in the chuck for easy
removal.
TO RETIGHTEN
A LOOSE
CHUCK
The chuck may become loose on spindle and develop a
wobble, Periodically check chuck screw for tightness,

[] Open chuck jaws and remove hex key. Remove the
chuck screw by turning it in a clockwise direction.
NOTE: The screw has Idt hand threads.
[] hsert hex key in chuck and tighten chuck jaws se-
curely. Tap sharply with a mallet in a counterclockwise
direction. This will loosen chuck on the spindle. Htcan
now be unscrewed by hand.

To tighten:
[] Lock the switch trigger by placing the direction of rota-
tion selector in center position.
[] Open the chuck jaws.
[] hsert hex key into chuck and tighten chuck jaws se-
curely. Tap hex key sharply with a mallet in a clockwise
direction. This wil! tighten chuck on the spindle.
[] Open the chuck jaws and remove hex key.
[] Tighten the chuck screw.
NOTE: The chuck screw has left hand threads.
