This is a connection for analogue recording.
For connections to other equipment or for digital recording, refer to pages 14 and
15 in the manual.

Step
Record on a recordable MiniDisc
When recording from a CD or MiniDisc

Press the REC button.

Begin playback on the
stereo system connected
to this portable MD.

Press the

to adjust the recording level.

Adjust the recording level so
that the maximum sound vol-
ume from the source makes
the reading swing somewhere
between -4 dB and 0 dB.

Press the PAUSE button on
the stereo system to enter
the playback pause mode.
Here you can search for the
track to be recorded.
When recording stops, "TOC" appears. Whilst "TOC" appears, the MiniDisc record-
ed contents have not yet been updated.
To prevent the new recording from being lost, it is not possible to remove the Mini-
Disc whilst "TOC" is displayed.

To update the recorded contents of the MiniDisc
Press the
button whilst in the stop mode.
The power turns off after recorded contents have been updated on the MiniDisc.
Refer to page 21 for details on TOC.

About the microphone
Any plug-in-power type microphones can be used.
If the microphone is not a plug-in-power type, it may malfunction or be damaged.
Plug-in-power type microphone
There are different types of microphones.
Power is automatically supplied to the plug-in-power type microphone when con-
nected to the unit. Other types are battery-powered or self-powered.

Make sure the hold function is deactivated before recording.
