Zooming in Closely on Subjects (Digital Zoom)

The focal length
of the lens can be increased
by an equivalent
of
1 .Sx or 2.Ox _1.4x
or 2.3x. This enables
a faster shutter
speed
and
less chance
of camera shake than the zoom (including
digital zoom)
used by
itself at the same zoom factor.
The images
may appear
coarse,
however,
depending
on the combination
of
recording
pixel (p. 68) and digital
tele-converter
settings
used.
Choose [Digital
Zoom].
@ Press the MENU button.
@ Press the _F buttons to choose the O
tab.
@ Press the A',P" buttons to choose [Digital
Zoom].

Accept the setting.

magnification.

button will restore the
shooting screen.

factor will appear on the screen.
@ To return to standard digital zoom, choose
[Digital Zoom] and the [Standard]

equivalen t focal lengths when using [! .5x] and [2.0x] are
52.5-
210 mm and 70 _ 280 mm (35mm film equivalent):
Uivalent focal lengths 'when using [! .#x] and [2.3x] are
49 - 196 mm and 80.5 C 322 mm (35mm film equivalent).
The digital tele-converter
cannot be used together with the digital zoom.
