When you use your camcorder, there are two main situations.
- Youwill be shooting outdoors (Normal recording or use of a ND(Neutral Density) filter).
- Youwill be shooting indoors (Video light recommended or required).

The single greatest influence on picture quality is the level of brightness, measured in lux.

The following table lists a few common situations, the corresponding level of brightness and
any associated recommendations.
Snow-covered mountains or fields,
Sandy beach on a hot summer's
day,
Sunny around midday,
Sunny day in the middle of the
afternoon,
Overcast day around midday,
Overcast day one hour after
sunrise,
Office with fluorescent lighting near
to a window,
Sunny day one hour before sunset.
Department store counter.
Station ticket counter.

1. Eject a tape you have recorded. (see page 25)
2. If you want to protect accidental erasure of a tape you have recorded, push the red tab on
the cassette.
3. Set the POWER switch to OFR
• The LENS cover automatically closes when the camcorder turns OFF. (SCA35/A85)
4. Close the LENS cover. (SCA30/A33/A80)
5. Remove the BATTERY PACK from the camcorder.
