When Having 6/8-party
Conference
* This requires the system environment where optional
6/8-party conference is available and the setting on
the PBX.
6/8-party conference cannot be started
(1) Setting on the PBX side is required. For details,
contact your system administrator.
(2) Conference trunk may have reached the fixed
number. Wait for a while and retry the opera-
tion.
A loud sound is heard when 8-party con-
ference begins:
(1) A loud sound may be heard when an organizer
calls attendees. This is not an abnormal condi-
tion in the specification of Softphone.
If you are worried about it, lower the receiving
sound or keep the handset off from your ear.
Tried to call the members to 8-party con-
ference by pressing [ * ] Button, the call
failed to be connected
(1) Isn't the other person busy or isn't he or she
away? Check the status by using Member 01/02
on the Information Window.
(2) If you can't hear dial tone even after pressing
[ * ] Button, press [ * ] Button again after pressing
[#] Button.
You hung up the call during attending 8-
party conference
(1) If you are an organizer of the 8-party confer-
ence, the conference itself will be ended.
(2) If you are called to the conference, you cannot
return to the conference by yourself. Wait until
your organizer calls you again.
You failed to call other persons to data
conference
(1) Try repeating the operations to call others to the
conference several times.
(2) If you cannot call them still, contact your sys-
tem administrator.
Is it possible to have data conference and
NetMeeting at the same time?
(1) It is impossible to run data conference and Net-
Meeting at the same time. While you are having
a data conference, do not start NetMeeting.
Cautions for an organizer:
(1) Check whether a person you have called actu-
ally attend the conference or not by speaking
with him or her.
• If an attendee forwards the conference call, an
organizer cannot check it.
• If a person who is not called to the conference
answers your call for conference from another
phone by using call pickup, an organizer can-
not check it.
(2) Be sure to confirm if other person will attend
the data conference or not by speaking to him or
her when starting the conference. This is
because you can call other persons to data con-
ference even while they are busy for something
other than the conference.
(3) You cannot call to the data conference a mem-
ber who is attending voice conference from
another phone by using Call Pickup.
When Using Call For-
ward-All Calls
The call failed to forwarded to the set
forwarding destination
(1) Did you set forwarding on 'Call forwarding set-
tings' screen?
(2) Isn't the phone number of the forwarding desti-
nation wrong?
(3) If the forwarding destination is an outside line,
have you added an additional number such as
'0' to the front of the phone number of the for-
warding destination to register it?
When Confirming Other
Person's Status by Using
Member 01/02 displays
* This is available only on the system with the optional
presence server.
The other person doesn't answer the call
though 'presence' sign is displayed
(1) Update what is displayed by putting the mouse
cursor two seconds or more onto the button of
Member 01/02 displays. The other person may
be away.
(2) The other person may be away without making
a 'Away' setting. Wait for a while and call him
or her again.
