2. Item settings

2.1. COMMAND STACK

When [COMMAND STACK] is selected and the ENTER but-
ton is pressed, the Command Stack entry menu appears.
See "Inputting a Command Stack" (page 64).

2.2. WEEKLY TIMER

OFF (default)
Automatic start/stop using the timer is not performed.
ON
Automatic start/stop using the timer is performed. When [ON]
is selected and the ENTER button is pressed, the daily power
on time/power off time setting menu will appear. See "3.
WEEKLY TIMER settings" (page 57).

2.3. POWER ON START

Set to select whether automatic playback is performed when
power is turned ON.
OFF (default)
POWER ON START function is disabled.
ON
POWER ON START function is enabled. It is necessary to set
the title and chapter to be played at power on. See "4. Set-
ting POWER ON START" (page 60).

2.4. TITLE PLAY MODE

Single (default)
When a NAVI command ("Return to menu", "Search for
specific title", "Playback from beginning of title", etc.)
follows a title, the specified operation is performed after the
title finishes playing. When no command is specified, play-
back stops.
All
When playback of a single DVD disc title is complete, the
next title plays and so on until all titles have played.

2.5. KEY LOCK

The Key Lock function determines whether main unit or re-
mote control unit buttons are "enabled" or "disabled." How-
ever, EXTEND TERMINAL commands are always supported,
regardless of this setting (except OPEN/CLOSE).
OFF (default)
Commands from remote control and front panel buttons are
allowed.
ON
Commands from remote control and front panel buttons are
limited. Press the ENTER button to set the "5. Setting KEY
LOCK" (page 61).

2.6. REPEAT MODE

The repeat command sets the default repeat mode when start-
ing playback from the stop condition. Alternates between
[OFF/CHAPTER/TITLE/DISC]. (When [TITLE PLAY MODE]
is set to [All], [DISC] appears as an additional option).
OFF (default)
Normal play mode; no automatic repeat play is performed.
Advanced Setup Menu (Settings for Commercial Use)
CHAPTER
With DVD discs: repeat play is performed for a single chap-
ter.
With CD and video CD discs: repeat play is performed of a
single track.
TITLE
A single title is repeated.
DISC
All contents of the disc are played back repeatedly.

2.7. SERIAL PORT

Sets the serial interface to use either a 15-pin connector or 9-
pin connector. Only a single type of connector may be used
at one time.
15 Pin (default)
When connecting to a PC using a 15-pin to 9-pin adapter ca-
ble.
9 Pin
When connecting to a PC using a commercial 9-pin cross-
wired cable.

2.8. BAUD RATE

Sets the baud rate for the RS-232C interface. Baud rate can
be set to either 4800 (default), 9600, or 19200 bps.

2.9. REV STEP/REV PLAY

Use to set the mode during DVD reverse playback.
Resolution (default)
Single-frame reverse is performed with emphasis on video
quality.
Smooth
Single-frame reverse is performed with emphasis on speed
of response to button input.

2.10. BLACKBOARD LOCK

OFF (default)
Clicking the right mouse button enables the Blackboard
mode.
ON
Clicking the right mouse button does not enable the Black-
board mode. See "Video Blackboard Function" (page 75).

2.11. PLAYER CONTROL PANEL

Selectable (default)
When the right and left mouse buttons are clicked simultane-
ously, the control panel display alternates ON/OFF.
Always On
Control panel is displayed constantly.
Always Off
Control panel is not displayed, even when the right and left
mouse buttons are clicked simultaneously.
For details, see "About the player control panel" (page 74).

2.12. SETUP LOCK (MOUSE)

OFF
[SETUP] and [ADV. SETUP] buttons are displayed on player
control panel.
ON (default)
[SETUP] and [ADV. SETUP] buttons are not displayed on
player control panel.
