Intended use

Your BLACK+DECKER lithium ion cordless vacuum cleaner has been designed for light, dry vacuum cleaning purposes. This appliance is intended for household use only.

Wall Mounting

The product can be attached to a wall to provide a convenient storage and charging point for the appliance. When mounting to a wall, make sure the mounting method is suitable for the wall type and is appropriate to the weight of the appliance.

1. Mark the location of the base charger screw holeson the wall (within reach of an electrical outlet for charging the vacuum while it is on the wall bracket).
2. Fix the base charger to the wall using appropriate screws and plugs for the type of wall, and weight of the appliance.
3. Hang the appliance by placing the opening of the vacuum base over the hook on the base charger.

Charging the battery

For use only with the supplied charger.

Before charging, be sure to empty all contents and dry thoroughly if needed to avoid damage to your appliance.

1. Before first use, the battery must be charged for at least 10 hours.
2. Place the appliance on the charging bracket whenever it is not in use.
3. Make sure the appliance is switched off.
4. Place the appliance on the base charger
5. Plug in the charger
6. Leave the appliance to charge for at least 9 hours.

NOTE: While charging, the charger may become warm. This is normal and does not indicate a problem. The appliance can be left connected to the charger indefinitely.

Do not charge the battery at ambient temperatures below 39°F (4°C) or above 104°F (40°C).

Charging Indicator LED

1. While charging, the red LED on the chargerwill illuminate.
2. When charging is completed, the red LED will turn off.

Switching On

• To switch the appliance ON, press and hold the On/Off button.
  
• Once the button is released the vacuum will turn Off.

Wet And Dry Pick-Up

For everyday spills of dry material, use your appliance without the squeegee accessory.

Your product is designed for light spills only.

• This vacuum can also be used to pick up everyday liquid spills. Use the squeegee accessory on non-absorbent, hard surfaces. On absorbent surfaces, such as carpet, your appliance will pick up wet spills better without the accessory.
• For best performance on hard surface wet pickups, insert squeegee into the bowl nozzle opening.
• For best results when using this accessory, hold the appliance at an angle of 45° and pull it slowly towards you.
• Do not fill the bowl beyond the end of the intake chute. If there is any liquid in the bowl, do not turn the unit upside down, sideways, point the nozzle upward, or shake the vac excessively.
• After picking up liquid substances clean the vac and filter immediately. Mold and mildew may form if the unit is not properly cleaned after wet pickups.
• If charging in a vertical position, be sure to empty all liquid contents to avoid damage to your appliance.

Optimizing the suction force

In order to keep the suction force optimized, the filters must be cleared regularly during use.

Cleaning and emptying the appliance

Projectile/Respiratory Hazard:
Never use the vac without its filter.
NOTE: The filter is re-usable, do not confuse it with a disposable dust bag, and do not throw it away when the product is emptied. We recommend that you replace the filter every 6–9 months depending on frequency of use.

• Figure D - Press the dust bowl release button on the handle and remove the dust bowl.
  
• Remove the deflector from within the bowl.
• Figure E -Remove foam filter from within the deflector .
  
• Figure F - Empty the debris from the bowl
• Shake or lightly brush any loose dust off the deflector and filter.
  
• Figure G -For a more thorough cleaning the dust bowl, deflector and foam filter can be washed in warm soapy water. Allow to dry before placing back into the vac.
  
• Place dry foam filter back into deflector and then place deflector assembly into the dust bowl, pressing firmly to ensure a secure fit.
• To replace dust bowl, place it back onto the unit until it "clicks" firmly into position.

Maximum dust collection will only be obtained with a clean filter and an empty dust bowl. If dust or debris begins to fall back out of the product after it is switched off, this indicates that the bowl is full and requires emptying.

• Wash the filters regularly using warm, soapy water and ensure that it is completely dry before using again. The cleaner the filter is, the better the product will perform.
• It is very important that the filter is correctly in position before use.

Accessories

Your hand vac may be supplied with some of the following accessories:

• A squeegee tool or wet clean up.

Fitting

1. Insert the appropriate accessory into the front of the dust bowl as show in Figure H.
2. Make sure the accessory is fully pushed in.

Replacing the filters

The filters should be replaced every 6 to 9 months and whenever worn or damaged. Replacement filters are available from your BLACK+DECKER dealer. Visit www.blackanddecker.com to locate dealers.

• Remove the old filters as described in Cleaning the Filters.
• Fit the new filters as described in Cleaning the Filters.

These fit all units. When these filters reach the end of their lifespan they must be disposed of at a local recycling center.

MAINTENANCE

Use only mild soap and damp cloth to clean the vac. Never let any liquid get inside the vac; never immerse any part of the vac into a liquid.

Make sure the vacuum is completely dry before using it.

To assure product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs, maintenance and adjustment (other than those listed in this manual) should be performed by authorized service centers or other qualified service organizations, always using identical replacement parts.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the product does not work, check the following:

• The charger was correctly plugged in for recharge. (It feels slightly warm to the touch.)
• The charger cord is not damaged and is correctly attached.
