Note: The washable pre-filter came installed in your air purifier and removes larger particles from the air that passes
through the filter. You can use this washable pre-filter, or you have the choice to use the Optional Odor & VOC Reducing

HOW YOUR AIR PURIFIER WORKS
This model air purifier incorporates a 3-stage cleaning
system to help clean the air that passes through the filter
in the unit (Fig. 1).
Stage 1: Washable or Odor-reducing Pre-Filter
Stage 2: Permanent Washable ifD

Filter
Stage 3: Electronic Ionizer
SET-UP
• Select a firm, level and flat location. For best airflow, locate the unit 6 inches from any wall or furniture.
• When operating, large volumes of air are drawn toward the air purifier. Surrounding areas should be
cleaned and/or vacuumed frequently to prevent build-up of dust and other contaminants. This may
also help prolong the life of the filter. If the unit is placed on a light colored carpet, a small mat or rug
should be used underneath to prevent permanent staining. This is especially important in homes with
contamination from smoking or fireplaces.

ELECTRONIC FILTER CLEAN REMINDER
This model air purifier has an electronic filter check to remind you when to check
and clean the washable ifD
purifier's hours of use.
When the filters need to be cleaned, the CHECK FILTERS light will remain on until it
is RESET. You may unplug the air cleaner without interrupting the filter check.
A red LED light will illuminate when it is time to clean the filters.
Fig. 1
You should periodically check the filters. Depending on operating conditions, the
filters should be cleaned at least every 3 months and the Electronic Filter Check
should be reset.
To RESET the Electronic Filter Check:
After the ifD
®
filters and pre-filter have been cleaned and returned to the unit, plug the unit in but keep in
POWER OFF mode. Insert the tip of a ball-point pen or paper clip next to the LED filter check light and hold
for approximately 3 seconds (Fig. 4). The CHECK FILTERS red LED will flash twice indicating the Electronic
Filter Check has been reset. The red LED will no longer be illuminated.
These cleaning intervals are intended as guidelines only. Performance of any filter media is dependent
upon the concentration of contaminants going through the system. High concentrations of contaminants
such as dust, pet dander and smoking will reduce the useful performance of the filter.
