    Congratulations!! You have just received the newest RetailData handheld, the Motorola MC3190. This document will guide you through the complete setup process for this unit. You will also be provided a MC3190 manual that will cover complete details regarding the operation and collection program on the unit.
  • Page 3 6. You will now have to calibrate your touchscreen and stylus by tapping the screen on the crosshairs. Follow the instructions on the screen. After calibrating, press Enter to continue. The reboot is NOT complete yet!!! The handheld will display a Windows desktop however the reboot program is still running.

    Quick Start Information Basic instructions for the most commonly used functions in the RetailData Collection program. Default Associate Number 1. Options 2. System 3. Settings 4.     Ethernet Setup We now have two different types of charging docks/modems. The most common is below: Dial-up – Network Switch Dock Ethernet Setup 1. Your setup will be as below with the Ethernet cable if you have the dock with the Network switch on the side and no dial-up capabilities.

    If you have internet service and a router you may transmit information using the Ethernet connection on your dock. There are multiple setup options depending on the type of equipment you have. See the following sections for the setup that matches what you may own. Handheld Connection Options RAs that want to transmit via the internet have several options to choose from.

    Dial-up Dock The one pictured here allows you to use dial-up. There are three connections on the back of the MC3_90 charging dock. One for the AC power adapter, one for a phone or a USB plug that is used with the Ethernet connector.

    Dial Up Connections: If you are using a Dial-Up connection at home or in a hotel, you will plug the phone line from the wall directly into the phone jack on the back of the charging dock. DSL users may have to use a noise filter on the phone line as well.

    Cable/DSL Modem ONLY with multiple LAN ports Some internet providers may supply you with a modem that also has multiple LAN ports. In this case you will not need a separate router.
