Tape guide
When the heads, capstans and pinch rollers become
dirty, this
may result in muffled, distorted or reduced sound during play-
back and may even result in tape jams.
Open the cassette compartment door and clean with a cotton
swab
moistened
with a commercially
sold head/pinch
roller
cleaner or alcohol.
@ Wait approximately
10 seconds for the alcohol
or cleaning
fluid to dry before using.
If the heads are used for a tong time, the
heads will gradually become magnetised.
@ Read the instructions that come
with
the demagnetiser carefully on use.
When the heads become magnetised:
© Treble tones may be lost and distortion may result during playback.
@ Static distortions may be recorded along with recordings.
® Distortion and noise may be recorded on previously recorded music tapes.
Any of the above may occur.
