Safety notes
2.7 Notes on battery operation
Risk of damage to the device caused by metal objects
Keep unused batteries away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal
objects that could cause the contacts to be bridged. A short circuit between the battery
contacts can cause burns or a fire.
Damage due to damaged or altered devices
Do not use a damaged or modified battery. Damaged or modified batteries can behave
unpredictably and lead to fire, explosion, or risk of injury.
Risk of damage to the device caused by charging outside the permissible temperature
range
Observe all instructions for charging, and never charge the battery outside of the
temperature range specified in the operating instructions. Incorrect charging or charging
outside of the permissible temperature range can destroy the battery and increase the risk
of fire.
Risk of damage to the device caused by unauthorized customer service centers
Never service damaged batteries. All battery maintenance should only be performed by the
manufacturer or authorized customer service centers.
Risk of damage to the device caused by pointed objects or external forces
Pointed objects, such as nails or screwdrivers, and external force can damage the battery.
An internal short circuit may occur and the battery may burn, smoke, explode, or overheat.
Risk of damage to the device caused by frost
Do not expose the battery to freezing temperatures. The longer the cells are exposed to low
temperatures, the greater the risk of capacity losses and dangerous cell damage. For
example, do not store batteries in an unheated garage in the winter.
