TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
PROBLEM:
Unit does not power up.
SOLUTION:
Make sure that shredder head is properly placed on the waste basket.
The shredder handle and the basket window should be facing the front. This unit
has an automatic sensor, which switches the shredder off when the shredder head
is removed from the wastebasket.
PROBLEM:
Shredder motor continues to run after shredding is complete.
CAUSE:
The waste bin is full and not allowing paper to exit shredder head.
SOLUTION:
Unplug the shredder and empty the waste bin.
Shredded paper does not completely exit shredder head.
PROBLEM:
Shredded paper is caught in the blade slots.
CAUSE:
Turn switch to "REV" position to clear. You may also need to unplug
SOLUTION:
shredder and manually remove paper from shredder exit.
PROBLEM:
Shredder does not run when paper is fed into feed opening.
CAUSE:
Paper is not entering feed opening at a proper angle to touch activating sensor.
SOLUTION:
Remove and adjust the position of the paper so that activates the motor.
CAUSE:
Paper is too thin, soft, wrinkled to activate shredder motor.
SOLUTION:
Remove paper and fold it before inserting it into shredder.
Paper is jammed and shredder does not run in "AUTO" position.
PROBLEM:
Too many sheets of paper are being fed into shredder at one time.
CAUSE:
Turn switch to "REV" position and clear.
SOLUTION:
Shredder does not run in "AUTO" or "REV" position.
PROBLEM:
Motor exceeded operating temperature, overheat protection feature shut it off.
CAUSE:
Unplug the shredder and allow it to cool at least 60 minutes before using again.
SOLUTION:

Avoid clothing touching the document feed opening.
