SECTION 7: SERVICE

Review the troubleshooting procedures in this section if a problem develops with your machine. If you need
replacement parts or additional help with a procedure, call our Technical Support. Note: Please gather the
serial number and manufacture date of your machine before calling.
Motor & Electrical

Troubleshooting

Possible Solution
1. Install switch disabling key.
2. Ensure correct power supply voltage and circuit size
(Page 11).
3. Test for good contacts; correct wiring (Page 45).
4. Ensure circuit is free of shorts. Reset circuit breaker or
replace fuse.
5. Correct motor wiring connections (Page 45).
6. Test/replace if at fault.
7. Adjust centrifugal switch/clean contact points. Replace
either if at fault.
8. Fix broken wires or disconnected/corroded
connections (Page 45).
9. Replace switch.
10. Replace motor.
1. Only sand wood/ensure moisture is below 20%
(Page 25).
2. Correct motor wiring connections (Page 45).
3. Test for good contacts/correct wiring (Page 45).
4. Clean (Page 33)/replace sandpaper (Page 26); reduce
feed rate/sanding depth.
5. Clean motor, let cool, and reduce workload.
6. Move machine closer to power supply; use shorter
extension cord (Page 12).
7. Adjust centrifugal switch/clean contact points. Replace
either if at fault.
8. Replace motor.
1. Replace damaged or missing bolts/nuts or tighten if
loose.
2. Adjust machine feet to stabilize machine.
3. Replace or tighten if loose.
4. Tighten/replace.
5. Fix/replace fan cover; replace loose/damaged fan.
6. Adjust/replace if at fault.
7. Test by rotating shaft; rotational grinding/loose shaft
requires bearing replacement.
