User Instructions

Before commissioning, connecting, or operating
this product, it is absolutely essential that the
operating instructions/owner's manual and, in
particular, the safety instructions are studied
carefully. By doing so, any uncertainties about
this product and any associated safety risks can
be eradicated upfront—which is in the interests
of your own safety and will ultimately help
avoid damage to the device. When this product
is handed over to another person, the operating
instructions, safety instructions, and informa-
tion on its designated use must be handed over
to the recipient.

Intended Users

The product must be installed by skilled and
qualified personnel only. All work on electrical
devices must be carried out by individuals with
sufficient knowledge and experience in the
fields of electrical equipment.

Range of Application

The EV 300 is intended for indoor or outdoor
use in either public or private areas.

Do not expose EV 300 internal components
to rain or moisture; prevent the formation of
condensation.
R
Keep area around EV 300 clear of debris.

Safety Instructions

These operating instructions are intended to
ensure easy and safe setup and use of the
EV 300. Read these operating instructions
and other applicable documentation
carefully before attempting to install or use
the EV 300.

Do not install or use the EV 300 near
flammable, explosive, corrosive, or
combustible materials, chemicals, or vapors.
R
Turn off the input power to the EV 300
before maintaining the EV 300.
R
The EV 300 is designed only for vehicles that
are compatible with the SAE J1772 Level 2
charging standard.
R
Do not use the EV 300 if it is defective,
appears cracked, frayed, broken or damaged.
R
Do not attempt to open, disassemble, repair,
tamper with, or modify the EV 300. Contact

repairs.

Do not use the EV 300 when the user, the
vehicle, or the charger is exposed to severe
rain, snow, or other severe weather.

When transporting the EV 300, handle with
care.
R
Do not touch the charging connector
terminal with metallic objects.
R
Do not insert fingers or any foreign object
into any part of the charging connector.
R
Incorrect installation and testing of the
charger could potentially damage the
vehicle's battery and/or the EV 300 itself;
any resulting damage is excluded from the
warranty for the EV 300.
R
Ensure that the charging cable is well
positioned during charging, so it will not be
stepped on, tripped over, or subjected to
damage or stress.
R
Do not use the EV 300 with a charging cable
that has any sign of damage.
R
Confirm that wire diameter and wire type,
corresponding to the current rating and
temperature rating, meet local electrical
requirements.
R
Before starting the installation, turn off all
power.
R
Do not immerse the EV 300 or any of its
parts or accessories in water.
R
Even though the EV 300 and the accessories
are water-resistant, they are not waterproof.
Allow to dry thoroughly before storing.
R
An "in-use" receptical cover should be
applied to the EV 300 when used in outdoor
installations.

Risk of explosion. This device has arcing or
sparking parts that should not be exposed to
flammable vapors.
!
Risk of electric shock. Do not remove cover
or attempt to open the enclosure of the de-
vice. No user serviceable parts inside. Refer
servicing to qualified service personnel.
!
To reduce the risk of fire, connect only to a
circuit provided with 40 amperes maximum
branch circuit overcurrent protection in ac-
cordance with the National Electrical Code,
ANSI/NFPA 70 and the Canadian Electrical
Code, Part I, C22.1.
