SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
General precautions
To ensure safe handling, the operator must Þ rst read this instruction
manual in order to familiarise him- or herself with the operation of
the trimmer (A). Inadequately informed operators can endanger
themselves and other persons through improper use.

Do not lend the trimmer to persons who are not experienced in
using electric trimmers. If you do lend it, make sure to provide
this instruction manual along with the trimmer.
-
First-time users should ask the salesperson to familiarise them
with the general characteristics of power trimming.
-
Do not let children and minors under 18 years of age use this
electric trimmer. Minors over 16 are exempted if using the trimmer
for training purposes under the supervision of a knowledgeable
adult.
-
Operation of an electric trimmer requires your full attention!
-
Operate the trimmer only if you are in good physical condition.
Work calmly and carefully. Be aware that as the operator, you
are liable for any damage or harm to others.

Never work while under the inß uence of alcohol, drugs or
medication (2).

Personal protective equipment

-
The clothing worn should be functional and appropriate, i.e.
it should be tight-Þ tting but not cause hindrance. Do not wear
either jewellery or clothing which could become entangled with
bushes or shrubs. Secure hair so it is above shoulder level. If
you have long hair, always wear a hairnet!

In order to prevent head, eye, hand and foot injuries as well
as hearing damage, always wear the protective clothing and
equipment described below.

The faceplate (B) of the helmet (A) protects you from ß ying
cuttings or objects that the trimmer may ß ing up. To prevent eye
injuries, wear protective eyewear in addition (C).

To prevent hearing damage wear the proper personal hearing
protection (hearing protectors (D), earplugs etc.). We will provide
an octave band analysis on request.

Your work clothing (E) should Þ t well and not be too loose. We
urgently recommend purpose-designed work clothing; in any
event, wear long trousers of sturdy material.

Work gloves (F) of sturdy leather are required equipment
and should always be worn when working with the electric
trimmer.

Always wear sturdy footwear (G) with a non-slip sole when
working with the electric trimmer!
Taking into operation
-
Do not use the electric trimmer in rain or wet or damp conditions.
The electric motor is not protected against damp. Do not leave
the trimmer out in the rain. Shock and short-circuit hazard!
(5).

If the trimmer gets wet or damp, do not turn it on.

Do not use the trimmer around ß ammable fumes, vapours and
dusts, since the motor generates sparks. Explosion hazard!

The power cable should always be behind the operator. Make
sure that the cable does not get caught and does not come into
contact with sharp-edged objects. Lay out the cable in such a
way that no-one can be endangered.

Plug the power cable only into grounded sockets whose
installation has been inspected and approved. Make sure that
the supply voltage corresponds to the voltage marked on the
machine. Fuse amperage is 16 A. Machines used out of doors
are to be connected to a circuit protected by a residual current
circuit breaker with max. 30 mA release current.

If using an extension cable, make sure that it has the proper
cross-section. If using a cable drum, the cable must be completely
unrolled. Use only extension cables that correspond to the
speciÞ cations under "Technical data" below.
