Supervisor Password
The Supervisor can access and change setup utilities. He/she can also define the
limitation of user access.
To set or change the supervisor password:
1.
Select Change Supervisor Password.
2.
Type the password, then press [Enter]. A password can have up to six
alphanumeric characters and/or numbers.
3.
Re-type the password to confirm, then press [Enter].
Once the Supervisor password is set, you can change the User Access Level. The
access level options are:
• Full Access: Users can access and change all BIOS settings.
• Limited: Users are only allowed to change basic settings such as date and
time.
• No Access: Users cannot access the BIOS Setup Utility.
• View Only: Users can view the BIOS Setup Utility but cannot change the
settings.
User Password
Set the User Password under this setting. Note that Supervisor Password allows the
user to enter and change the settings of the setup menu; User Password only allows
the user to enter the setup menu, but do not have the right to make any changes.
To set or change the user password:
1.
Select Change User Password.
2.
Type the password, then press [Enter]. A password can have up to six
alphanumeric characters and/or numbers.
3.
Re-type the password to confirm, then press [Enter].
The Access level defined by the Supervisor determines the users' setup utility access.
Password Check
When a Supervisor or User password has been set, the Password Check option
will be available in the Security Menu. With this option, you can configure when the
system will prompt you for the password:
• Setup: You are required to enter the password every time you access the BIOS
Setup Utility.
• Always: You are required to enter the password on every system boot.
