Applying the Cuff
Before applying the cuff, be familiar with the following features:
1. Apply the Cuff to the upper arm at the same level as the heart. If not at
heart level, you must use the measurement correction formula (refer to
IntelliVue Cableless Measurements Instructions for Use). Ensure the
D-ring falls within the index line.
2. Fasten the Cuff (see page 1 for left and right arm applications). It is not
required to align the Cuff's hose with the patient's brachial artery;
however, align the Cuff's bladder with the patient's brachial artery. It is
also recommended to position the cradle on the outside of the arm, not
under it.
3. Connect the Cuff tubing to the NBP Pod or Extension Hose, as required
for the patient setup.
