7. STARTING THE ENGINE

• Exhaust gas contains poisonous carbon monoxide. Never run the
engine in an enclosed area. Be sure to provide adequate ventilation.
• Start the engine in a place away from the people, pets, and
surrounding buildings. Be sure there are no obstacles in the
working area.
NOTE:
Do not operate the backpack sprayer without sufficient amount of
chemicals in the chemical tank.
Fill 1 Liter or more chemicals into the chemical tank (see page 36).
• To prevent the use of the backpack sprayer without sufficient
amount of chemicals in the tank, as soon as the nozzle has stopped
spraying chemicals, stop the engine.
• If the amount of chemicals in the chemical tank becomes 1 Liter or
less, the pump sucks air, and will prevent spraying chemical.
• If you continue to operate the backpack sprayer without sufficient
amount of chemicals, the pump may be damaged.
1. To spray with two nozzles, turn the switching valve to the OPEN
position.
To spray with one nozzle (right-hand side), turn the switching valve
to the CLOSED position with the sprayer hose (long) disconnected.
