ning performance a distance of at least 100 cm should be
maintained from walls, furniture and other objects.
Please note: When the air cleaner is in use, large amounts
of air are sucked in. The surfaces surrounding the applian-
ce should be cleaned regularly and/or vacuumed, to pre-
vent dust and dirt from accumulating. This can also help
prolong the life of the filter. If the appliance is standing on
a light-coloured carpet, you should place a mat or protecti-
ve cover under the air cleaner, in order to avoid the carpet
becoming permanently soiled. This is especially important
if the air is contaminated by smoke, an open fireplace or
stoves.
2. Make sure that the switch (3) is in the OFF (0) position
and insert the power plug (1) into the power socket.
3. Turn the switch (3) to the desired position:
I = low air flow rate
II = medium air flow rate
III = high air flow rate
To achieve a continuous cleaning performance you are
recommended to run the air cleaner 24 hours a day. Air
cleaners are more effective in rooms in which all doors
and windows are closed.
4. Turn the ionizer switch (4) to Position I to switch the
ionizer on. The ionizer power lamp (5) lights up. The ioni-
zer supports the cleaning performance and air refreshing.
5. To switch the air cleaner off, turn the switch (3) to the
OFF (0) position and disconnect the power plug (1) from
the power socket.
FILTER CHANGING AND CLEANING
Electronic filter change indicator and changing the filter
cassette
The filter system, which consists of pre-filter, active car-
bon filter and HEPA filter, filters particles of dirt such as
dust, smells and gases out of the air. The filter cassette
(12) is effective for a period of 6 months. This is only a
guideline. The actual duration of effectiveness depends on
the amount of use and the concentration of dirt particles in
the air. If the air cleaner is operated in surroundings with a
high concentration of dirt particles (e.g. pollen, dust or
smoke) or used constantly, the duration of effectiveness is
curtailed. You should check the condition of the filters
regularly.
This air cleaner has an electronic filter change indicator,
which reminds you when it is time to change the filter cas-
sette. This point in time is calculated on the basis of the
running hours. The LED filter change indicator (6) is then
continuously lit up red.
When you change the filter cassette (12), please follow the
instructions described in the section on "first time of use".
As soon as you have mounted a new filter cassette (12)
you should reset the filter change indicator. Switch the air
cleaner on, push the tip of a ball-point pen or paperclip
into the opening of the filter change indicator and press it
for 5 seconds until the red control lamp goes off.
If you mount a new filter cassette before the control lamp
lights up red, you should also reset the filter change indi-
cator.
Please note: The filter cassette is not washable.
Cleaning the pre-filter
The pre-filter filters large dirt particles out of the air. For an
optimal cleaning performance we recommend you to clean
the pre-filter every two weeks.
1. Release the lock clips (8) and take the filter cover (9) off
the air cleaner.
2. Take the pre-filter (10) carefully out of its slot (11).
3. Tap the pre-filter (10) gently (into a trash bin) or clean it
by hand in lukewarm water. Allow the pre-filter (10) to dry
completely before you replace it in its slot.
4. Replace the filter cover (9) so that the lock clips (8)
click into place. Make sure that the lock clips (8) are secu-
re.
CLEANING, STORAGE AND DISPOSAL
We recommend you to clean the air cleaner regularly. In
order to avoid impairing the functioning of the air cleaner.
Please observe the following instructions.
Cleaning
We recommend you to clean the air cleaner at least once a
month.
1. Check that the switch (3) is in the OFF (0) position and
disconnect the power plug (1) from the power socket.
2. Clean the outer surfaces of the air cleaner with a soft,
dry cloth. Use your vacuum cleaner with the brush attach-
ment to clean the air intake and air outlet vents. Do not use
any abrasives or chemical cleaning agents.
3. Do not allow water to get into the air cleaner. Do not
clean the air cleaner under running water and do not
immerse it in water.
Storage
If you do not plan to use the air cleaner for a longer period
(about 3 – 4 weeks), we recommend you to store it as fol-
lows:
1. Make sure that the switch (3) is in the OFF (0) position
and disconnect the power plug (1) from the power supply.
