MSK Motors Operation in Potentially Explosive Areas ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU
1.
Realization of the resurfacing routine IndraDrive "Restoring the holding
torque" (see"P-0-0544, C3900 Command Resurfacing of motor holding
brake"). A repeated realization of the resurfacing routine is possible.
Upon the execution of the command C3900 it is not checked whether
the resurfacing of the holding brake was successful. It is recommended
to execute the command C2100 (Command Holding system check)
once again.
2.
Resurfacing routine by superior control. Here, special control programs
adapted to the machine and system concepts are required. If necessary,
please contact your Bosch Rexroth distribution partner and discuss the
resurfacing routine parameters for your application.
For more detailed information about software functions refer to the func‐
tional description "Rexroth IndraDrive Firmware for Drive Control Devices
MPx-xx, DOK-INDRV*-MP*-xxVRS**-FKxx-EN-P."
DANGER
Make sure that the motor is only connected in the de-energized state
and a non-explosive atmosphere.
Before working on the system, always use a suitable measuring instru‐
ment (e.g. multimeter) to check whether parts are still under a residual
voltage (e.g. due to the residual energies of capacitors in filters, drive
devices, etc.); let their discharge times elapse.
The connection between the grounding conductor and the system
ground must be made before any other connections.
The junctions to or on the control device must be situated outside a haz‐
ardous area or be licensed for the use in hazardous areas.
The motors have to be grounded over the motor cable and over a separate
grounding wire (equipotential bonding) with min. 4 mm² diameter (see
ter 1.11.2 "Connect potential equalization line " on page
The following connections must be made to ensure safe operation of the mo‐
tors:
Power connection (incl. temperature sensor and holding brake)
Encoder connection
Equipotential
bonding

WARNING
Connect and disconnect connectors only when they are dry and de-
energized.
During operation of the system, all connectors must be securely tight‐
ened.
