2.1 Safety definitions

Warnings, cautions and notes are used to point out
specially important parts of the manual.
WARNING: Used if there is a risk of injury or
death for the operator or bystanders if the
instructions in the manual are not obeyed.
CAUTION: Used if there is a risk of damage to
the product, other materials or the adjacent area
if the instructions in the manual are not obeyed.
Note: Used to give more information that is necessary in
a given situation.

2.2 General safety instructions

WARNING: Apply a new warning label if a
warning symbol on the product is damaged or
missing.

2.3 Symbols on the product

WARNING! This product is dangerous.
Injury or death can occur to the operator
or bystanders if the product is not used
carefully and correctly. To prevent injury
to the operator or bystanders, read and
obey all safety instructions in the
operator's manual. Please read the
operator's manual carefully and make
sure that you understand the instructions
before use.
Use an approved helmet and approved
eye protection.
Use approved protective gloves.
Use heavy-duty slip-resistant boots.
The product agrees with the applicable
EC directives.
The product or package cannot be
disposed as domestic waste. The product
and package must be sent to a correct
recycling station for the recovery of
electrical and electronic equipment.

Direct current.
This product does not have insulation. If
the product touches or comes near high-
voltage power lines, it can cause death or
bad injury. The current can jump from one
point to other points by arcing. The higher
the voltage is, the larger distance the
current can jump. The current can also go
through branches and other objects,
especially when they are wet. Always
keep a minimum distance of 10 m
between the product and high-voltage
power lines and/or all objects that are
touching them. If you must work in this
safe distance, always tell the related
power company to make sure the power is
off before you start work. Keep a minimum
of 15 m to other persons or animals during
the operation.

2.4 Special safety instructions

2.4.1 To remove the battery
WARNING: Always remove the battery before
you do repairs or do servicing on the product.
The rating plate shows the serial num-
ber. yyyy is the production year, ww is
the production week and xxxx is the
sequential number.
